STAGE 02
The Vision Cast & Retreat Guide for the couple ready to dream together again.
COMING SOONMost couples spend more time planning a vacation than planning their life together. You have dreams floating around in your head — maybe even on a whiteboard somewhere. But without a shared mission and a real plan, those dreams just stay dreams. Another year passes. Same patterns. Same frustrations. Same feeling that you are building something but have no idea what it is.
You do not need more motivation. You do not need another podcast episode about goal-setting. You need a process — something structured enough to get you out of the fog and simple enough to actually finish. Something you and your spouse can sit down with and finally say: this is who we are, this is where we are going, and this is how we are getting there.
Tori and I do this retreat every year. It is one of the things that has kept us on the same team through some really hard seasons — career changes, three kids in three years, cross-country moves, financial stress, mission drive work burnout. Every year, we step away for two or three days, look back at where we have been, and look ahead at where God is leading. We write a mission statement. We cast vision for the next 365 days. And then we go home with a plan we actually believe in.
PLAN is the guide we wished someone had handed us the first time we tried to do this. It is not a self-help workbook with inspirational quotes and vague prompts. It is the actual framework Tori and I use — structured, faith-rooted, and built for real couples living real life. We packaged it so you can do what we do, on your own schedule, at your own pace.
PLAN is built around a personal retreat — two to three days away from normal life to do the deep work. You do not need a fancy cabin (although if you want you can stay in ours haha) or a plane ticket. A hotel room works. A borrowed lake house works. A quiet Saturday morning at a coffee shop works if that is what you currently have available. What matters is making intentional space away from the noise so you can actually hear yourself think — and hear each other.
Our recommended rhythm is three days, two nights. Day one: arrive, settle in, start reflecting on the past year. Day two: work through the hardest and most rewarding sessions — what needs to change, your mission statement, your vision. Day three: slow morning, finalize your plan, and head home with something real. At least 51 percent of the retreat should feel joyful. Hard conversations and deep reflection are part of it, but so are long meals, slow walks, and actually enjoying each other again.
Session 1 — Reflect on Last Year. Looking back on the previous 365 days with honesty and gratitude. Spiritual, relational, physical, emotional, financial, vocational, and community dimensions are all covered. The goal is to get a 30,000-foot view of the year before looking ahead.
Session 2 — What Needs to Change. Dreaming forward with the past year in view. Identifying what to keep, what to release, and what to begin. Covers lifestyle adjustments, priorities, spiritual growth, marriage, personal development, and health. Focused on the what and the why — not the how. That comes later.
Session 3 — Creating Your Mission Statement. The heartbeat of the entire retreat. Guided questions help you uncover your God-given identity, purpose, strengths, passions, what breaks your heart, and what God has repeatedly spoken over you. This is where everything comes into focus.
Session 4 — Casting Vision for the Next Year. Mission is timeless. Vision is time-bound. This session translates your mission into practical action for the next 365 days — spiritual, relational, family, health, and financial. Ends with a dedicated action steps page where you name your goal, write the first step, set a date, and name who you are telling.
Session 5 — Recap and Reflection. Summarizing the retreat before heading home. Clarifying the biggest lessons, the words and themes that repeated across sessions, the commitments being made, and what God is saying as the retreat closes.
Session 6 — Quarterly Check-Ins. Four quarterly check-in pages (Q1 through Q4) designed to keep the vision alive throughout the year. What is going well, what goals are in progress, what needs adjustment, and how to celebrate what God is doing.
Session 7 — Weekly Team Meeting Guide. A weekly rhythm tool we call Soft Launch Sundays. A one-page check-in covering what went well, where you saw God move, what needs attention this week, and how to live out the mission right now. Designed to help you play offense with your time, talents, and treasures.
Session 8 — What is Next. A closing section that sends you home with gratitude, a prayer, and the reminder that the real transformation begins when you return to daily life. Revisit your mission often. Refine it over time. And invite God to keep shaping it.
50+ Page Vision Cast & Retreat Workbook — Eight structured sessions covering reflection, mission, vision, and action. Not busywork. Not journaling prompts. A real framework you will come back to year after year.
Video Guide with Chad and Tori — We walk you through each session on camera, sharing our personal stories, our real mission statement, our actual vision, and practical guidance. This is not a polished course — it is organic and human.
Quarterly Check-In Pages — Four built-in quarterly reviews so your vision does not die after the retreat weekend ends. Real accountability, built into the workbook.
Weekly Team Meeting Guide — A one-page weekly rhythm tool for staying on mission. We call ours Soft Launch Sundays. Yours can be whatever you need it to be.
A Repeatable Annual Curriculum — This is not a one-time product. PLAN is designed to be used every year, adapting to your current season, your current challenges, and wherever God is leading next.
When you finally stop drifting and start building with intention, everything shifts. Not because you suddenly have all the answers — but because you finally have a shared direction. A mission statement that anchors your family. A vision that gives your year shape. And a plan that turns all of it into something you can actually act on.
On the other side of PLAN, you will know who you are and why you are here — not in theory, but in writing. You will have had the conversations most couples never get around to having. You will stop starting each new year the same way you ended the last one — reactive, busy, and without a clear mission. And you will come back to this workbook every year, because the process works and the vision keeps growing.
You did the hard work of getting stable. Vision is what comes next.
You are not in crisis. You have enough stability to dream — but you have never had a structured process to help you get there. You are tired of starting each new year the same way you ended the last one. You want to live with purpose but do not know how to translate that desire into an actual plan. You and your spouse are ready to get on the same page — not about the calendar, but about the mission.
PLAN was built for the couple who is done drifting and ready to build something that lasts.
Stop drifting into another year. Your mission is the why. Your vision is the what now. This is where you build it.
